The Premier League has revealed the shortlist for the 2024/25 EA SPORTS Player of the Season award, recognizing the league’s standout performers this campaign. These players have made huge impacts with their goals, assists, defensive work, and overall leadership.
1. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
Salah enjoyed another remarkable season, scoring 28 goals and assisting 18 times, playing a key role in Liverpool’s first Premier League title since 2019–20. He also earned the Football Writers' Association Men’s Player of the Year award for a record third time, capturing almost 90% of the votes.
2. Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
As captain, Van Dijk was the backbone of Liverpool’s strong defensive unit. His leadership and solid defending were vital in securing the league’s best defensive record and ultimately the title.
3. Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool)
In his first season in the Premier League, Gravenberch was crucial in Liverpool’s midfield. He led the team in possession recoveries with 185 and recorded 44 high turnovers, alongside providing four assists.
4. Alexander Isak (Newcastle United)
Isak was Newcastle’s top marksman with 23 league goals. Beyond scoring, his relentless pressing and intelligent movement helped Newcastle maintain an aggressive style throughout the season.
5. Declan Rice (Arsenal)
Rice demonstrated his versatility in midfield, creating 56 chances and leading Arsenal in possession regains per 90 minutes with an impressive 4.9 average. His contributions were key to Arsenal’s balanced performances.
6. Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest)
Gibbs-White played a pivotal role in Nottingham Forest’s strong season, contributing six goals and eight assists. He also topped Forest’s charts for chances created, generating 50 opportunities and playing a part in 141 attacking sequences.
7. Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest)
Wood’s goal-scoring form was vital to Forest’s push toward European qualification, consistently finding the net when it mattered.
8. Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford)
Mbeumo enjoyed a standout year, scoring 18 goals and adding seven assists. He led Brentford in chances created with 67 and covered one of the highest distances in the league, running 367.9 km over 36 matches.
